Nyx privacy policy
Nyx collects no data. Nothing you do in Nyx or in Safari is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
Settings stay on your device
Your settings (the status, the schedule, your themes and anything you set for a particular website) are stored on your device.
How Nyx reads web pages
To darken a page, Nyx reads its stylesheets and images inside Safari, on your device. Some of them can’t be read directly, usually because they come from a different server than the page. In that case Nyx downloads them again from the same address the page used, so it can read their colors. Those are the only network requests Nyx makes.
iCloud sync
If you’re signed in to iCloud, Nyx syncs your settings between your devices with Apple’s iCloud key-value storage, in your own iCloud account. The developer can’t see this data. Apple handles it under the Apple Privacy Policy.
No tracking
Nyx has no analytics, ads, crash reporting or third-party SDKs, and it doesn’t track you across apps or websites.
Reporting a problem
When you choose Report a problem, Nyx captures the page locally and opens a review screen. You can black out private areas in both screenshot views and edit the page’s address and report details. Only when you choose Copy screenshot and continue does Nyx copy a PNG with the blackouts burned into its pixels. You can also continue without a screenshot. Raw screenshots stay in memory, are never saved to extension storage, and are discarded when you leave the review. Nyx then opens a GitHub issue draft. The screenshot leaves your device only if you paste it there; you decide whether to submit the issue.
Children
Nyx doesn’t collect data from anyone, children included.
